Hello, I'm Helga Lima, creator of the Kuaglavy brand, a celebration of beauty, culture and dedication. My journey began on the small and charming island of São Tomé, in Africa, where my passion for crafts was born as a child. Growing up, I was fascinated by how unique pieces could convey stories, cores, and traditions. This passion accompanied me throughout my life, even when I needed to prioritize my family.
My journey brought me to the United Kingdom, where I started over, but I never let go of the dream of creating something bigger: a brand that combined my African heritage with my love of fashion and craftsmanship. I studied, improved my sewing skills and dedicated my time to understanding every detail of this universe. However, something was missing – I still hadn't realized the dream of creating my own product line that reflected my roots and vision.
This is how Kuaglavy was born – a word that means “beautiful thing”. And it's not just about products, but about the essence of what I believe: each piece is made with love, respect for tradition and commitment to quality. Everything is created in the UK, using authentic African fabrics, and designed to be as functional as it is beautiful.
My mission is to bring a little piece of Africa to the world, helping you feel connected to this cultural wealth, while supporting artisanal work. At Kuaglavy, each bag, toiletry bag, turban and accessory tells a story – mine, yours, and that of so many others who believe that crafts have the power to transform lives.
